Kermon House

THE SETTING

A landmark mid-19th-century industrial mill and dockland warehouse overlooking the River Boyne in Drogheda, Co. Louth. Originally converted to apartments in the 1990s, the building retains its iconic stone facade and historic character.

THE TRANSFORMATION

We undertook a full-scale renovation to transform this historic shell into a sophisticated, modern sanctuary tailored for a couple who love to entertain reimagining the original layout to optimize every square inch.

Social Integration. Merged the kitchen and living areas into an expansive, light-filled open plan with a striking custom kitchen island as its social hub.
Spatial Innovation. Reclaimed dead space in the hallway to create a dedicated laundry zone, freeing up the main living areas.
The Result. A seamless blend of industrial heritage and contemporary luxury, perfect for quiet relaxation or hosting friends by the Boyne.

ABOUT ME

Thiago Nieiro

Founder of Lázaro Arch and Design, an architect trained in São Paulo, Brazil, and living in Ireland for nearly a decade, a country with which he developed a strong personal connection and where he established his professional career.

His relationship with architecture began in childhood, directly influenced by his grandfather, Lázaro, a talented draftsman and his first great creative reference. Through him, he had his first experiences with drawing and developed a deep sensitivity for shapes, lines, and proportions.
